Great Court British Museum

Sir Norman Foster has received mixed reviews for his designs for this large inner courtyard with its vast, glass- and steel- covered atrium. Pop in for a brief exploration and make up your own mind.

The Round Reading Room is at the centre of the courtyard and boasts a beautifully restored interior (though very little reading goes on it these days). The Great Court holds temporary exhibitions, concerts and lectures. There is also a restaurant and a café.

The museum itself is open daily, 10am- 5.30pm (Thurs- Fri until 8.30pm)
