Fantasy- themed suites, antiques and opulent bedding make Anouska Hempel's long- established hotel look like a wealthy colonial outpost. It seems fitting—albeit startling—that one of the rooms houses Empress Josephine's original bed. We particularly like the “White Room”, decked out with antiques and white drapery.
The glossy black dining room feels like a flash- back to the set of “Dynasty” and the single rooms are too small for comfort. Still, Blakes remains a connoisseur's refuge.
