This smart French hotel, on the corner of Pall Mall and—wait for it—Waterloo Place is for those who hanker after a European touch, yet need all their mod cons.
Everything is carefully considered—from the sleek lobby with its black lacquer touches, to the high- tech guestrooms. The man behind it all is Pierre- Yves Rochon, known for his masterful refurbishment of the George V in Paris. At the Sofitel Mr Rochon occasionally hits a sour note, as in the fussy “Rose Lounge”, with its shocking pink sofas. But the guestrooms are superb, with flat- screen televisions, king- size beds and, best of all, art- deco bathrooms with oversized showerheads.

Posted by Maggie, 11 March, 2008Everything here at Sofitel St James hotel is beautiful, you would enjoy every corner of this hotel. The building itself is very artistic with all the art and paintings hanging on the wall, down to the elavator and to your room fully furnished, clean and well organized. I must say that without a doubt one of the great hotels I have ever seen and stayed at.
