Lorelei of Bateman Street is a shabby yet dignified SoHo café which actually serves good espresso coffee from a more-than-40-year-old coffee machine. Reasonably priced coffee too. It is unique among SoHo cafes in that the comfort rooms are placed in the backyard – kind of like the outhouses of years past.
