The Engineer in leafy Primrose Hill is almost more “gastro” than pub. An ambitious menu scrawled on the blackboard offers all- organic dishes such as roast sea bass with sweet chilli and lime leaf sauce, and oyster mushroom risotto with sage, fennel, rocket and parmesan.
With prices to match those of any good restaurant, this rambling, wooden- floored pub attracts those looking for much more than a pint with chips.
The pub is run by Tamsin Olivier, daughter of the late Lord Olivier, which makes the Engineer Brit- pop and actor territory par excellence.
