Stop at the Oxo Tower, a London landmark with terrific views across the river, while on a walk along the frequently re- designed South Bank.

Take the lift to the eighth floor, where there is a bar and restaurant overlooking the Thames (Mon- Sat 11am- 11pm, Sun noon- 10.30pm). You might pop in for a pre- meal drink and snack; there is no need to book ahead. The first two floors of the building are home to a number of craft shops and designer boutiques.
